Located near the Arousa estuary, in the heart of the Salnés region, the beautiful Galician town of Meaño represents rural Galicia as you can imagine it: in this small corner of Spain, the land offers excellent gastronomy, beautiful landscapes and traditional architecture, offering some trips back in time. The town is full of classic elements of the Galician landscape such as hórreos (typical granaries), wash houses, old mills and stone crosses, of which there are up to 74 examples. There are several churches in the municipality, such as the parish churches of Santa María de Simes and San Juan Bautista.
