Travel Guide Ribeira Dom João

Around Ribeira Dom João are some of the most beautiful beaches of the island. After passing the village, a dirt road leads to a rocky promontory from where you can descend to the beach. From this promontory you can choose between two different beaches. On the right is the actual beach of Ribeira where a few fishing boats are lying on the black and white sand. On the left, a smaller but equally beautiful beach with crystal blue water invites you to go for a dip or to snorkel: sharks in sight... harmless of course. In the village, you can also visit the cheese factory.
