30 minutes south of Manta, protected by the Punta de Jome, lies a superb beach of more than 8 km and a small fishing village out of time. Its orientation and geography make it the ideal place to practice Kitesurfing and Wingfoil, two board sports for which aficionados travel to the other end of the world. Still spared from mass tourism, Playa Santa Marianita has kept an authentic charm even if some hotels have opened there in recent years. Some kitesurfing centers installed on the beach offer courses and rentals as well as pleasant terraces to rest after the effort.
