Glorenza and Sluderno are two small neighbouring villages in the Val Venosta, which form a tangible border with the Austrian Tyrol. The medieval castles in Sluderno give an idea of the fortresses on the other side of the border. Glorenza is a lovely, well-preserved medieval town. The town is still surrounded by a protective wall. On the Rio di Pusteria stream is the town's historic mill. The church tower houses an exhibition on the cartoonist Paul Flora, who was born here. The GAP studios are dedicated to contemporary art.
