Waki-machi is a city located in the west of Tokushima. It merged in 2003 with the town of Mima, the town of Anabuki and the village of Koyadaira. This trading town was historically specialized in Japanese indigo fabrics, a traditional craft. It is famous for its old quarter, with a great heritage value, gathering a lineage of beautiful houses with firewalls, called " udatsu ". Many stores, cafes and restaurants invite visitors to take time to relax and enjoy themselves. If you are there at nightfall, head to the Wakimachi Sensui Bridge and the Yoshino River. This place is famous for its beautiful sunset.
