Liepnitzsee is without doubt Brandenburg's most beautiful lake. It was formed during the last Ice Age. Its clear water and rolling landscape are a dream come true. In autumn, the colors and light are particularly splendid. If you're planning to spend the day here, don't forget your hiking boots, a large bottle of water and a good picnic. The site has been preserved from human appetites and you won't find much to sink your teeth into. The lake is located in the municipality of Wandlitz (population 22,000), north of Berlin, which was once a popular holiday resort for the GDR elite.
