Jethwai is just a small village, one of those dusty clusters of modern brick and concrete buildings and a few traditional adobe huts that nowadays are mostly used as animal pens, fodder storage or cooking facilities on the rare rainy days. The village is only 10 kilometers west of Jaisalmer and is home to a good thousand families. We refer to it for its family hamlet located a few hundred meters away, which allows to discover the traditional way of life in the Thar desert, with its adobe huts and its wooden and thatched roofs, as one does not live there anymore.
