The most famous dunes of the Thar are 2 km long. Many " Jeep safaris " pass there. The place has become very touristy, but in the late afternoon the colors are splendid. Many camel drivers meet there. Make sure from the start that the price of the ride is fixed, to avoid bad surprises. Traditional musicians animate the site, as well as children who dance to glean some rupees. If you think of the desert as a solitary and silent experience, you'd better not go.
