Situated near Loch Awe, on the road from Oban to the northern Trossachs and on the Coast to Coast Walk, this small town has many attractions. In addition to the landscape in which it is located, between mountains, lochs and rivers, it has a rich history. Its existence is linked to the nearby Kilchurn Castle: the village developed next to it. It is not the only historical building to call for an excursion: Old Ruined Village and Paddys Point are worth a stop, as are Duncan Ban Monument, the Old Military road, the church and the 18th century bridge, St Conan's Kirk and the dolmens.
