Inveraray is cradled by the waters of Loch Fyne in a green environment, halfway between the Cowal Peninsula and the west coast. It is a pretty port town with white-fronted houses and a rich cultural and tourist offer. It is mainly known for its neo-Gothic castle, but it has other attractions to offer. In summer, the imposing Inveraray Bell Tower is open to the public. The Inveraray Prison is also a popular site and has won several awards for the quality and originality of its displays and exhibitions. Finally, Inveraray is a resort for nature lovers.
