Main entrance point of Mull, Craignure is a string of houses facing the sea, including a few lodgings and restaurants. The arrival by ferry is quite impressive, as you pass the Lismore lighthouse and Duart Castle, the historic seat of the MacLeans. A second castle, Torosay Castle, is visible from the road south of the village, but is not open to the public. Stay one night here if you wish, but feel free to push on to the rest of the island. The western road to Tobermory along the coast is beautiful. Then enjoy some good gin in the Tobermory distillery, facing the colorful harbor.
