Janabiyah concentrates most of the ancient remains of Bahrain. According to the Bahrain archeologist Al Sindi, his necropolis is one of the most important in the country. But from his glorious past, there are only ruins left. The village's inhabitants subsequently lived in a relative poverty, as the English diplomat John Gordon Lorimer wrote in 1908, who remarked in Janabiyah 20 straw huts inhabited by peasants and fishermen, as well as eight donkeys and two cows. Today, Janabiyah is a quiet and unhistory residential town. Visitors stop at Al 'Al's road, especially to admire the royal dromadaires that take place in a dedicated farm. The expatriates also visit the Rugby Club sports grounds.
