Bama is a large village of about 22,000 inhabitants, on the national road 9 towards Mali, 30 minutes from Bobo-Dioulasso. Bama is not a tourist destination but allows you to take a breath of fresh air, walk in the greenery and especially in the rice fields, escape from Bobo's city life for a day or a short weekend. The fame of the village: rice and more particularly soumbala rice, this famous néré seed which gives off a very special smell but whose taste is quite pleasant. We will take advantage of this getaway to buy rice, smoked or not, directly from the vendors on the edge of the tar, bush bread and of course eat soumbala rice.
