Next to the church, the pastry shop A prova is one of the favourite places of the inhabitants. Here you can taste the specialities of the eastern Algarve made in the adjoining factory. The freshness of the cakes is therefore guaranteed, ideally to be enjoyed with a bica (espresso coffee) as the Portuguese do. The main regional ingredients are dried fig, almond and carob, in tasty blends. Felhozes (flaky pastry) with honey, the unavoidable pastel de nata, almond tiles, bolinhos de côco, to name but a few, are the kings of the house.
