Nestled near the river Adaja, the municipality of Valdestillas (1 800 inhabitants) is a place of passage for pilgrims from Madrid from Madrid. Its territory is part of the controlled designation of origin D.O. Rueda, a very popular white wine throughout Spain. The city retains some interesting monuments, such as the Romanesque bridge which crosses the Adaja and the church of Nuestra Señora del Milagro with its baroque altarpiece of the th century.
