This is the northeastern cape of the island of Mafia, the most easterly point facing the Indian Ocean. There are so few visitors here that it's like arriving at the end of the world. Nature is wild and truly magnificent. Continue on the sandy road past Bweni for about 5 km. On the way, you enter a magnificent baobab forest. Eventually, you come to Cape Ras Mkundi. Here, a lighthouse with a square tower painted red and white signals its existence to boats. It dates back to 1894 and, with its two storeys, dominates this magnificent wild cape from a height of 30 metres.
