A small, traditional village on the edge of the mangrove swamps, directly opposite Misali Island, where the majority of the population are fishermen. This is the former port of Chake Chake, Pemba's main town 10 km away. While the majority of boats dock at Mkoani, a few boats, mainly dhows, dock here.
