A picturesque town situated on the Bystrzyca Dusznicka, at an altitude of 400 m, at the foot of the Tabular and Bystrzyca Mountains. The spa is bordered by woods, which gives it a temperate climate without significant temperature fluctuations. It is recommended for people with digestive and circulatory disorders. The Akiba Rubinstein International Chess Festival is held every summer. The development of this spa dates back to the 19th century, when the new owner, Joseph Grolms, enclosed one of the five springs (the Józef), to build a spa house still used today for its virtues.
