Atlixco is a pleasant little town with a perfectly preserved historic centre. Its Zócalo is particularly pleasant: cafés and restaurants in terrace follow one another under the arcades while the central garden shelters a coffee under the freshness of the trees, in a kiosk with the Art Deco architecture. A very pretty church completes the picture. If there are no exceptional monuments, the ensemble formed by the few coloured streets around the Zócalo is very pleasant to walk around and you can climb to the top of the cerro San Miguel from where you will have an unobstructed view of the Popocatépetl, the city and the valley
