Travel Guide Barissakho

At 100 km from Tbilisi and 3 hours drive, it is the first large khevsoure village entering the Piraketa before Korcha. It is on a slope of a hundred meters, characterized by its traditional stone houses. Bear hunting still exists in the area, bear chachlik being the local specialty. You can get there from Tbilisi from Didoube railway station with one bus a day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 4 am (but it is better to get confirmation of times and days of departure at the Tbilisi railway station). The village is a good starting point for great treks. From this village, the road becomes a path and a 4 x 4 is essential.
