10 km north of Poperinge, it breaststroke one of the five authentic Trappist beers. Only sold to individuals, its production is not outside the abbey. It can also be consumed in the reception centre located opposite. There is also an interactive audiovisual information area dedicated to the abbey and brewery.

Vous auriez pu dire que cette abbaye produit la meilleure bière du monde. La Westvleteren 12 est très régulièrement première dans les classements annuels établis par le très sérieux organisme Ratebeer.
Attention, on ne peut pas acheter les bières sans les avoir au préalable commandées par téléphone. Et ils sont un peu difficiles à joindre.
Bref, c'est un véritable parcours du combattant pour obtenir le précieux breuvage.
Mais ca vaut le coup. Nous sommes bien au paradis de la bière !
