SPANISH PAVILION
The Spanish flag, in Gothic style of the fifteenth century, was the old City Hall. Two centuries later, the building was occupied by the Spanish officers who made their headquarters. Their garrison defended the city, head head in the fight against the French. Another remarkable building just a few steps from the pavilion, the old halle with meat dating back to the seventeenth century. Typical of Flemish architecture with its gables facade, the old butcher welcomes the municipal library and an exhibition space.
