A gothic cathedral in Ypres, with a richly detailed façade, a porch with a large rose window
The cathedral was rebuilt identically after the First World War, giving it the spire it previously lacked and raising it to a height of 100 meters. The façade is richly detailed, with a porch topped by a large rose window and a simple stained-glass window. Inside are the tombs of Jansenius - who gave his name to Jansenism - and the Lion of Flanders, Count Robert de Béthune, an emblematic figure of the region. There's also a lapidary museum dedicated to the cathedral's ancient stones.
