Château de Marsannay is one of the 3 Halley family estates, along with Marché aux Vins and Château de Meursault. It owns 40 ha of vines, including 28 ha on the best terroirs of the Marsannay appellation. Nearly 200,000 bottles are produced every year, including some of the famous jewels of the local vineyard: the 4 Grands Crus Clos de Vougeot, Ruchottes-Chambertin, Chambertin, Echezeaux, the Premiers Crus Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin Bel-Air and Gevrey-Chambertin Champeaux. La visita allo Chateau de Marsannay è stata una piacevole scoperta, che consiglio vivamente di fare se vi trovare da queste parti. La visita inizia con una spiegazione teorica molto interessante e approfondita, una visita alla cantina a due piani sottoterra, una visione di come il vino viene imbottigliato e poi siamo passati alla degustazione. La spiegazione teorica iniziale è fondamentale per affrontare la degustazione con le giuste conoscenze. Un ringraziamento speciale va ad Emmanuel, la nostra guida, che per quasi due ore ha reso la nostra visita unica. Per ultima cosa, noi avevamo prenotato per 3 persone, due purtroppo non sono potute venire e loro sono stati così carini da regalarci due bottiglie di vino perché non potevano giustamente ridarci i soldi, ma hanno avuto questo pensiero davvero apprezzato. Grazie e a presto!

We had a really nice visit to this winery. I had not made an appointment for a tasting but according to their website, it's was possible to try several of their wines. Emmanuel introduced himself and asked what type of wines we preferred. He provided exactly what we liked in wines. Considering we arrived late and took up some of his lunch time, he took his time. We left with two bottles of wine, a positive experience and happy faces.

We had a fantastic tour and tasting at Chateau Marsannay with Margaux. It was very interesting to hear all the ins and outs about the winemaking process and the estate - Margaux was super friendly and very knowledgable. The wines we tasted were incredible. Highly recommend!
