Located 20 km north of Kudus, this small altitude station, perched on the flank of Gunung Muria, houses the tomb (1469) of Sunan Muria (Raden Umar Said). It is one of nine songo walis (the wise men propagating Islam to Java-Central in the fifteenth century, but questions remain: were they Arab? Chinese? Were they nine? Were they all living in the fifteenth century?).Overlooking the plain below, a mosque closes the tomb which is the subject of a pilgrimage at the time of Buka Luwur.
