Loxton, an unassuming little town of 3,900 inhabitants, located just off the Sturt Highway, the main road between Waikerie and Berri, is close to the Murray River National Park. This almost 15-hectare national park stretches from near Loxton to Renmark, and is a great area for the protection of local flora and fauna. You can do the Ngak Indau Wetland trail, a 3 km circuit (1h30 walk). From Loxton, you can reach either Tailem Bend and Murray Bridge or Swan Reach via Pyap, east of the Barossa Valley.
