LOXTON HISTORIC VILLAGE
Historic village on the banks of the Murray River, with buildings restored and furnished as they were in pioneer times.
inaugurated in 1973, this historic village transports visitors back in time to 1890 and 1950. Over 45 buildings, including a bakery, bank, printing shop and school, have been recreated and furnished as they were in those days. Exhibits include a collection of vintage vehicles, a steam train and historic farming equipment. Children can try out the school desks or play traditional games. Special days, called "Alive Days", are organized from time to time, with interactive exhibitions and free horse-drawn carriage rides.
