DOMAINE CAMUS PERE ET FILS

Winery

One of the inescapable areas of Gevrey-Chambertin, this house already existed in the 1730 s. The area covers 18 ha, with 5 grands crus covering 2/3 of the vineyards, Chambertin, Latricières-Chambertin, Charms-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin, Mazoyères-Chambertin and 1/3 in the name Gevrey-Chambertin. In a reasoned culture, the Domaine Camus develops the use of natural fertilizers and minimizes that of weed. The harvest is of course manual, with enamelled vats and screw presses in oak barrels which can vary from 18 months to 24 months. Remarkable, 90% of bottles are encirées, tradition but also response to customer demand! Last but not least, the policy of very…' reasoned'prices. The prices offered for a year, are for life, even an old vintage remains at the price of the year. An amazing address for the quality and prices of its Grands Crus. If you make an appointment, the house organizes a visit of the cellars and the cellar followed by a tasting of its Grands Crus. Guaranteed purchases!

Winery

Wine is definitely a woman's business! At the head of this domain for two generations, Margaret Bastien whose succession is assured by her daughter Sarah. A small characteristic of the house, the production of organic wines under the certified organic agriculture label. The vines are grown without a synthetic chemical, thereby maximizing the natural defences of the plant. Biological processes make it possible to obtain living and stable soils to give rise to great wines of remarkable quality. The methods remain, however, very traditional, the harvest is made manually, the sulfitage for winemaking is very moderate and breeding takes place in oak barrels from 12 to 18 months. The area produces regional designations, villages and Grands Crus at affordable prices. The Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Chores", whose parcel lies behind the property, promises beautiful surprises. We naturally appreciate the presence of the Grands Crus Charmes-Chambertin and Mazoyères-Chambertin.

DOMAINE HENRI REBOURSEAU

Winery

Domaine Henri Rebourseau, whose history began in 1920, has become a jewel of the Côte de Nuits, whose 13.5 hectares of vines spread between Gevrey-Chambertin and Vougeot produce wines whose demand outstrips supply. The appellations are ideally distributed between Villages, Premiers Crus and Grands Crus, of which there are 5: Mazy, Clos de Bèze, Chambertin, Aux Charmes and Clos de Vougeot. The vines are 100% organically grown, using biodynamic practices, and every effort is made to respect the characteristics of each climate. It's easy to see why it's so difficult to buy the domaine's wines, which are reserved for a loyal clientele of importers. But despite this exclusivity, the De Surrel family remains open to letting wine-lovers discover their heritage, which lies between the narrow streets of Gibriaçoise and the Route des Grands Crus.
