Staniel Cay is home to the famous Thunderball Marine Cave, which saw the filming of two James Bond films, Operation Thunderbolt in 1965 and Never Again in 1983. The American director Ron Howard also appropriated the place for his film Splash, a romance between a young New Yorker and a mermaid. One also comes to Staniel Cay for the famous swimming pigs, which have made Pig Beach one of the most "unsgrammable" spots in the country.
