The island's capital is a quiet, looped town with a single street encircling a pond called Lake Victoria. There is not much of note in this small port where life is slow. The houses are spread out on the hillside, shaded by coconut trees. During a stroll, you will notice Saint Andrew's Anglican Church, the majesty of the neoclassical government building, and the wharf, Government Wharf, where the daytime activity is concentrated when mail-boats and fishing boats arrive. The Tropic of Cancer crosses the southern part of the island called Little Exuma. The airport is located 15 km from George Town, count 35 US$ by cab to get to the city.
