The main attraction is Lake D'Arbonne, a fishing, boating and resort area that borders the west and south sides of this small town of less than 4,000 people. In addition to the state park, Farmerville is also home to the Union Museum of History & Art, which focuses on the history and art of Union Parish, including artifacts from the Indian tribes that frequented the area and works by North Louisiana artists. During the Mardi Gras season, the Krewe of D'Arbonne parade is not to be missed, and in July, the famous Watermelon Festival offers three days of activities of all kinds.
