The 18 km² park is home to 23 fantastic rocks, 400 million years old and sculpted by the sea, glaciers and winds. These geological shapes, the result of Mother Nature's mischief, are the most spectacular in Brazil. In the park live the rare maned wolves, ocelots, coatis, wild cats and dogs, armadillos, anteaters and a multitude of birds. The park consists of three parts: Arenitos, rock formations with strange shapes. Furnas, a region of large craters with exuberant vegetation fed by a water table. Lagoa Dourada, "golden lake" due to its colour at sunset.
