To get a taste of the sumptuous landscapes of South Luzon, this small mountain range, nestled in a biological reserve of 108,500 ha, can be reached in 2.5 hours from Tarija, taking the road to Tupiza. Visit the magnificent Tajzara lagoons, at an altitude of more than 3,600 m, the impressive white sand dunes and the summit of Muyuloma. In winter, remember to bring something to cover up with, as the temperature can drop to -20ºC. It is possible to observe the James flamingo(Phoenicoparrus jamesi), the rarest species on the planet, as well as two other species of flamingos, P. andinus and P. chilensis.
