Formerly known as Lakshmipura thanks to its prosperity, this small town in the Kannur district is famous for its three major temples: the Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple, the Rajarajeshwara Temple and the Trichambaram Sree Krishna Temple, which houses a magnificent collection of murals. A visit to the Parassinikadavu Snake Park, home to a multitude of snakes and a mini zoo with a few mammals, should be avoided, as it is unfortunately very poorly maintained and some of the animals are very distressing to see... A sight that may shock the sensitive.
