Ligonde, a village of 160 inhabitants, also has its Castro, the ruins of a fortified village that is supposed to be of Celtic culture. But unlike Castromayor, there is not much to see here. The interest of Ligonde, which is quite relative, lies rather in its small main street lined with pretty low stone houses with slate roofs. Pilgrims seem to enjoy stopping here to chat. A cross, placed on a low stone wall, reminds us of the exact spot where the old pilgrims' hospice used to be, which has totally disappeared. There are no shops in Ligonde, but there is a restaurant a little further on.
