After leaving Gonzar, after only 1.5 km we come across the village of Castromayor, which is similar in size and also has about 40 inhabitants. Its sturdy houses and modest 12th century church are worth a stop. There is also a bar-restaurant where you can get supplies. But the special feature of Castromayor is located a few minutes from the center, on your left as you continue along the path: it is the ruins of a fortified village from the pre-Roman era, attesting to the presence of a culture close to the Celts in this part of the Iberian Peninsula. The ruins are rarely visited, so take advantage of it.
