In Niassa province, halfway between the towns of Cuamba and Lichinga, Mandimba is a small border town without any charm with sandy alleys, Malawian goods and a small market in front of which all the trucks stop. The accommodations are surely the most affordable in the area if you decide to sleep there to cross the border the next day. Otherwise, plan to leave early in the morning. In a recess of the main road, after the crossing of the road to Malawi, chapas and buses leave all day for Cuamba or Lichinga. Count 150 km on either side.
