THE ECOLOGICAL RESERVE OF THE MAILLYS
Protected site in Auxonne, an exceptional home to 150 to 200 bird species
A place for birdwatching and environmental education, the Reserve covers 36 hectares of former gravel pits, 28 of which are under water. This exceptional site is home to 150 to 200 species of birds, including such rarities as the common goldeneye and the red-necked grebe. An educational trail, open to guided tours organized by the Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux (League for the Protection of Birds), allows you to discover the rich flora and fauna of this wild expanse.
