About 35 kilometres from the capital, São João dos Angolares can be reached by the only road along the coast from the capital, the EN-2. This small port town enjoys a privileged location, at the end of the bay of Vera Cruz, at the estuary of the São João river. From the beautiful black sand beach, fishermen head out to sea in the early morning. Once in the city, ask for a guide to visit the surroundings where some endemic bird species live. The city also has a beautifully renovated roça, where you can enjoy a very special taste experience. It is also possible to stay there and visit the plantation.
