Agua Izé is like frozen in time. With its dilapidated houses from another age, its paved streets replaced over time by grass, its abandoned hospital and its free-roaming animals, the locality gives off a special atmosphere, perhaps that of a ghost town, populated nevertheless by more than 1,000 inhabitants. Strolling through the streets, one can imagine its glorious past, that of one of the largest plantations on the island. Nevertheless, the town offers a picturesque stroll through its streets. Climb up to the hospital with its colonial architecture, unfortunately in a dilapidated state, but from where you have a beautiful view of the Boca do Inferno.
