With a Seychelles mother and a French father, Gérard Devoud says he is always seduced by the languor and fertility of the tropics, which he has been painting for decades. The artist exuberantly translates the colors of local life and always places his characters on a very lush background: green in all shades! Calling himself "more abstract than naïve", Devoud exhibits his work at Baie Lazare, next to the entrance of the Valmer Resort, the family estate hotel. Having already exhibited in Europe, the painter has at the same time reached a certain level of popularity.

Owner's Message
One of the best known artists in the Seychelles and well known through his exhibitions in Europe and the United States, Gérard Devoud has dedicated his life to capturing on canvas the beauty, light and easy life of the Seychelles. Against a backdrop of lush vegetation, he depicts the markets, people and fabrics of the islands in a luminous tapestry of forms that are like a prelude to travel.

Alors que nous n'avions que cinq minutes pour planifier et que nous n'avions rien prévu au préalable, le chef et le personnel nous ont préparé un dessert surprise pour notre anniversaire, accompagné d'un message personnalisé, et c'était parfait. Je ne pouvais pas quitter mes partenaires pour préparer quoi que ce soit à l'avance, mais ils ont compris la mission et l'ont exécutée avec tant de chaleur et de grâce.
L'atmosphère était paisible et romantique, au bord de la piscine - un cadre magique pour l'occasion. Le personnel était aimable, professionnel et véritablement soucieux de rendre la soirée spéciale. Je suis très satisfaite de la façon dont tout s'est déroulé et très reconnaissante de leurs efforts et de leur flexibilité.
Je recommande vivement le Valmer Resort à tous ceux qui recherchent une expérience gastronomique raffinée, qu'ils séjournent dans l'établissement ou qu'ils soient simplement de passage pour dîner.
