Travel Guide Kolari

Kolari is the northern terminus of the Lapland rail network. As such, it's a hub that takes visitors to the ski resorts of Äkäslompolo and Yllasjärvi. There's nothing special to see in this small town, but it's located on one of the country's most charming roads, along the River Torne. We're happy to stop here for a while before heading back to Sweden, or on to Finland. As the surrounding area is not overly populated, it offers some lovely walking opportunities for those who choose to stay for shorter or longer periods. Another option is to follow the road to Muonio, as far as Hetta and Kilpisjärvi.
