This village, surrounded by granite blocks, is located about 30 km north of Harare. Domboshawa means "red stone". There are rock paintings dating back 6,000 years. To get there, kombis leave from the Fourth Street bus station in Harare. They can drop you off at the Domboshawa Rock Road junction and the entrance to the small reserve is less than 1 km away on foot. Not far from the Domboshawa site is the Ngomokurira site (another reserve managed by the National Museum and Monuments). This site is also made up of granite rocks and contains smaller rock paintings.
