Travel Guide Marondera

Marondera is a town located 67 km from Harare, it belongs to the province of Mashonaland East, where the pleasant climate is favorable to the culture. On the road, stalls of fresh fruit and vegetables are a sight for sore eyes. Its population was estimated at about 70,000 in 2011. This major tobacco industrial center suffered greatly from the land reform of 2000, which expropriated white farmers from the land in this region, where they had lived for over a century. There are gas stations, stores and small restaurants. Its proximity to Harare, less than an hour away, makes Marondera a crossroads town that is always passing by.
