It is the largest of the Tremiti Islands (2.8 km long and 1.7 km wide), separated from San Nicola by a few hundred meters of turquoise sea, very popular in summer. The Italian singer Lucio Dalla (1943-2012) used to spend his summers here and created the Tremiti Festival, a series of free concerts, which takes place every year in June. The environment of San Domino is fascinating: less arid than San Nicola, the island is covered by a Mediterranean maquis, which makes it look like a green hat placed on the water. From Cala del Bue Marino, a path climbs to Colle dell'Eremita, the highest point of the archipelago at 116 meters.
