San Estanislao de Kostka del Tarumá, or Santaní (Taní for Stanislas in Guarani), is located at the crossroads of highways 3, 8 and 10, 155 km from Asunción, a 2 hour drive. A pleasant city for a stopover during a trip to the north. Around the Plaza de Armas, a baroque church with colonnades and a historical museum. The patron saint's day is November 13, the anniversary of the foundation (1749) of what was to be a Jesuit mission. The festival includes beautiful horseback riding demonstrations(jineteadas).
