Located 40 km north of Morondava, just past the Allée des Baobabs, pleasant Mangily is one of the Kivalo villages, with 700 Vezo and Sakalava inhabitants (mainly fishermen and farmers). The village, planted on the edge of the mangrove, has a mora mora rhythm during the day, until the return of the fishermen and zebus at the end of the day. Amid the huts, fields and baobab trees in the background, visitors feel very welcome, as Mangily is home to a highly successful ecotourism project. A visit to this village combines perfectly with the Allée des Baobabs for a day out, or more for those curious about Madagascan village life.
