The province of the same name, Ratchaburi, meaning "the land of kings" is located about 80 km west of Bangkok and runs through the Mae, River. The city dates back to the Dvâravatî era, more than 1 000 years ago. It is an easy access town and has a few monuments and attractions for a day excursion. Its proximity to Koh Kret is also an asset.
