The capital of the province of the same name, Ratchaburi, which means "the land of kings", is located about 80 km west of Bangkok and is crossed by the Mae Klong River. The city dates back to the Dvaravati period, more than 1,000 years ago. It is a city that is easy to get to and has some monuments and sites of interest for a day trip. Its proximity to Koh Kret is also an asset.
