The small town of Amphawa lies 63 kilometers from Bangkok. It's famous for its weekend floating market, but also for its old traditional wooden houses along the canals. The town is very pleasant. On weekdays, it's absolutely quiet. The floating market is one of the most charming in the kingdom, where you can stroll around and sample some excellent fish and seafood. From Amphawa, it's easy to get to the Railway Market in Mae Klong, a market worth visiting for its particularity: it's located alongside a railroad, and sometimes a train comes along to disturb the peace and quiet of the various stalls. Get your cameras ready!
