This seaside resort boasts a long beach lined with filaos, where many of the capital's inhabitants come to relax at weekends. The lively atmosphere is often created by holidaymakers gathering around tables on deckchairs set up along the beach to eat, drink and chat. Western tourists remain a minority in Cha'Am. The small town, close to Kaeng Krachan Park, represents an alternative to the fast-paced resorts, and the rates on offer are much more attractive than those of neighboring Hua Hin. The Saphan Hin pier is a pleasant place to stroll and watch the sunset.
